My artistic career
began in the 80’s at the then recently established Academy of Fine Arts in Holstebro, Jutland, founded and lead by Poul Cederdorff (b. 1938). He and his colleagues were theoretical and practical teachers of high standard. Following the Academy I grew fond of oilpainting and continued as a private student of Knud Erik Skov (b. 1926) and Beate Skov (b. 1929).
Moving to Zeeland a couple of years later my artistic skills were developed through several new inspirations. I’ve worked with glazing and wiping techniques to achieve aetherical effects, drawing in the light from behind. Today I use this applying watercolour in ultrathin layers to acchieve a particular depth effect. Furthermore I have studied projective geometry and classical mandala and icon techniques.
